What is Brown Bag?
Learn more about the Food Bank of Western MA’s Brown Bag program.
On the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 2-3:30 p.m., The Senior Center in Shelburne offers a Brown Bag program where seniors can stop by to pick out one FREE bag of groceries to take home. Grocery items range from non-perishables like dry milk, pasta and soup to perishables like cheese and butter. Available items vary each month. This program is made possible by the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.
Signing up for the Brown Bag program is a two-step process. Firsty, verify that you meet the age and income requirements below. Second, call The Senior Center at 625-2502 to fill out an application.
Those who are interested in joining the Brown Bag program must meet the age AND income requirements shown below:
1) Age Requirements:
Participants must be at leaast 55 years old OR have a documented disability which they receive SSDI.
2) Income Requirements:
